Happy Lunar New Year!

Hi Smitten lovelies!

I can’t believe we made it through the first month of 2022! As most of you know, I am of Philippine descent and we don’t celebrate the Lunar New Year, but I do have many friends that do. I love learning about different cultures and learning about their traditions.

I wanted to express my appreciation for all the love and support my readers have given me since I first published back in 2020. I didn’t know how readers would react to reading a romance story that has at least one main character that is of Philippine descent. Thank you for being open and embracing my culture! Please look forward to more little nuggets of my heritage in my books.

Happy Lunar New Year to you and your loved ones! Wishing you lots of happiness, good health, and good fortune!

Self-care is not selfish

Hi Smitten Sweeties!

Sundays are usually my day to rest, run errands, and to prepare for the week. Since I started writing professionally in 2020, my nights and weekends have been filled with writing, writing, and more writing. I’m not complaining, but recently if had taken a toll on my mind and body. I haven’t taken time to slow down and take care of myself. This year, I am giving myself grace when I haven’t checked off every box on my to-do list. I will make time for me and to recharge.

What kinds of things do you do to take care of yourself?

Happy New Year! It's 2022...let's get it!!

Happy New Year, my smitten lovelies!!

I can’t believe it’s the start of a brand new year! 2021 was not how I expected it to be, but nonetheless, we survived through it, and as healthy as we can be. This time of year, everyone is writing down their New Year’s resolutions; saying “New Year, New Me,” and motivated to start the year off on the right foot. A couple months in, we come up with excuses, then fall off the wagon. This is a vicious cycle year after year. Does this sound like you? It was definitely me. I was full of excuses, regret, and had difficulty getting back on track.

This year, I have a vision of being the best version of myself. I am taking things day-by-day and week-by-week with manageable tasks to get to my goals. Life happens and I give myself grace to accept that some days I won’t be able to get through my to-do list and it’s okay.

What are your goals for 2022? Let’s crush our goals together!!

She’s a curvy, tech-savvy project developer that hates commitment.

He’s a hot bar owner with no desire to settle down.

What happens when you rent a date for the holiday, but a phone app matches you to your forever-plus-one?

Alexis

Commitment wasn’t a priority. I was an independent woman and handled everything on my own, no man necessary. My family couldn’t understand the concept. So, I developed the Holidates app to help people like me who just needed a date to bring home to their families during the holidays. I tested it out on myself and my holidate turned out better than expected—nice, likeable, easy to be with. Of course, I forgot that relationships were simple when there was nothing on the line. No future, no heartbreak, no getting along for long periods of time. Then the unthinkable happened. We were snowed in and had to share a bed. No biggie. Until I realized I wanted to share more than one night. But a deal is a deal. And I wouldn’t break it...unless that’s what he wanted, too.

Wesley

I never met a woman who didn’t want a long-term commitment. So when a dating app matched me with Alexis, we were the perfect couple, blissful in our “for now” arrangement. I could survive anything for a few days. Except with her, I wasn’t just surviving--I was actually enjoying myself. When bad weather ruined our chance to go home and end the date, I was happy about it. I wasn’t ready to be done, so I bit the bullet and asked her to be my New Year’s Eve holidate, too. She agreed, but she didn’t know I planned to have her all the days in between. I wasn’t a resolution kind of guy, but if I was, I’d vow to convince Lexi to be mine forever.

Vivienne

Dr. Maxwell Garrido is impossible.

I’ve spent a year trying to arrange meetings with the elusive pharmacist to no avail. It’s my job to recruit the brightest minds in Healthcare. But why did it have to be this arrogant man?

The constant rejection has been a bitter pill to swallow. Yet had fate stepped in with the perfect cure?

Maxwell

Driven and determined, my focus is on my work. Being named Pharmacist of the Year at this year’s National Convention is a proud achievement. While I don’t lack female companionship, this event requires a professional. Someone with class and sophistication. Finding Vivi on the Holidates app could be just what the doctor ordered.

Until the truth comes out.

This arrangement needs to stop. But if I walk away from her now, would I ever recover?

Christmas in July

Designed by; Pretty Ink Covers

Designed by; Pretty Ink Covers

Hi loves!!

Hope you all are having a great and safe summer! July is almost over and we’re getting closer to my favorite season —Fall— and Back to School time! I’m sure most parents are excited to have their kids back in the classroom after having a long year of online learning.

Before July ends, let’s celebrate Christmas in July! I’m so excited to announce that I’m part of a fabulous series called Curves for Christmas. My book, All Wrapped Up, is Book 10 of the series.

Here is the blurb:
All Wrapped Up (Curves for Christmas, Book 10)

Alayna Morales

I built my social media empire needing to prove that I was different than just being the daughter of a felon. Being bullied throughout my life because of who I was related to by blood and not fitting in with the popular kids in school, there was only one friend that remained by my side—Kai. I crushed so hard on him but knew that he only thought of me as a sister. It was a silly childhood crush anyway. I got over it when he was drafted in the NFL, and I focused solely on my own career. When he returned home for the holidays and told me he was staying for good, all my feels for him returned. I’m all wrapped up as his Christmas gift this year— I just hope that he decides to keep me since it’s a no return policy with our friendship.

Kai Kekoa

Football was my life. I was an MVP quarterback that all the NFL talked about until it was taken away from me. Forced to retire early after a concussion that could’ve paralyzed me, I had to figure out what I needed to do for the rest of my life, so I packed up and returned to my hometown of Bourbon, Texas. The first person I go see is my long-time and closest friend—Alayna—and everything started feeling right again. When she told me she needed help with the Holiday Gift Drive, I didn’t hesitate to be her Christmas Elf. What I didn’t expect was to find myself falling for Alayna. Should I risk our friendship to be with her? Or am I too far in the friendzone?

Curves for Christmas

Santa's sleigh is loaded with a dozen sexy treats for twelve of his curviest sweethearts! Curves for Christmas is a collaboration of short holiday love stories from twelve of your favorite authors. Grab a cup of hot cocoa, and cozy up to these steaming hot book boyfriends.

This holiday season, escape to Fitzpatrick Place in Bourbon, Texas where great friendships, sexy men and a crazy landlady make life more fun.

Summertime Fun

Hi loves!

I can’t believe it’s July already and half the year is gone! It’s summertime and you know what that means? It means lots of trips to the beach, lakes, camping, and fun in the sun. I went on a small vacation with my little family to Disneyland and San Diego. It was really interesting to experiencing Disneyland during this time with COVID precautions and the state of California lifting the mask requirements if vaccinated. Regardless, we continued to wear masks, use hand sanitizer, and hand wash and still had fun in the Happiest Place on Earth.

There’s still a lot more time in the next couple months to enjoy the outdoors. What are your favorite summertime reads? I’m looking for more books to add to my to be read list! Comment below!

Hope you all continue to remain safe and healthy!

Music Monday

Hi Smitten Sweeties!

It’s #MusicMonday. As an author, I rely on music (and coffee!) to help me through my writing. I don’t have specific playlists for my characters, but I choose the type of music to set the mood of the scene. I listen to mostly pop and Kpop music, but I do listen to jazz, R&B, hip hop, EDM, alternative, and rock.

I’ve missed hanging out at my favorite coffee shops to get some writing done. To fill that void in the meantime, I’ve been listening to coffee house sounds on YouTube. YouTube has so many different ambience sounds. Being a huge Disney fan and Harry Potter fan, I’ve listened to sounds of Main Street in Disneyland and being in the library at Hogwarts.

Music impacts my writing in so many ways. What’s your favorite music genre that you listen to? Has music affected your life in any way?

Self-care Sunday

April is National Stress Awareness Month

How do you handle stress? Are you able to manage it well?

I've always been someone who gets stressed often and easily because I tend to overextend myself to be there for everyone and to do ALL the things...which I know is impossible. But hey! I'm an overachiever. LOL

I'm a work in progress and slowly have put MYSELF FIRST. How are you supposed to help others if you don't help yourself first.

According to the CDC website (2020), they listed the following as healthy ways of coping with stress:

  • Take care of yourself. Eat healthy, exercise, get plenty of sleep, and give yourself a break if you feel stressed out.

  • Talk to others. Share your problems and how you are feeling and coping with a parent, friend, counselor, doctor, or pastor.

  • Avoid drugs and alcohol. These may seem to help, but they can create additional problems and increase the stress you are already feeling.

  • Take a break. If news events are causing your stress, take a break from listening or watching the news.

  • Recognize when you need more help. If problems continue or you are thinking about suicide, talk to a psychologist, social worker, or professional counselor.

Man Crush Monday - Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Hi Smitten Sweeties!!

It’s #ManCrushMonday! For my latest release, Unmasked: A Fairytale Retelling, my male main character was inspired by actor, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. JDM is a silver fox and has a sex appeal that women swoon over, including myself. I wanted to portray those same characteristics in my hero, Marius De La Croix. Marius is a silver fox billionaire and entrepreneur in San Francisco. Marius can be controlling and a bit of a Dominant. He definitely has a charm and sex appeal that I would want in a book boyfriend. :) Xo, Aurora Paige

WIP Wednesday!

Hi Smitten Lovelies!

It’s WIP (work in progress) Wednesday! I am currently working on my story for the Resisting You anthology. The entire box set is comprised of twenty-four (24) small-town, second-chance romances. My story takes place in a fictional small-town near Mt. Hood, Oregon. I haven’t been to Oregon, but when I did my research, it looks like such a beautiful place to visit. My main characters are Ashton and Cassandra (aka “Cassie”). I’ve plotted this story and have been enjoying where I am in the story…hint: it’s when they run into each other after a bad break-up ten years ago. Just like my other stories, this one is also a multi-cultural romance and will have some surprising twists you’ll have to find out when it’s released. I’m off to continue writing my story. :) Xo, Aurora
